Educational philosophy

"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day, and that's the way baseball is."

Bob Feller

"Do what you love to do and give it your very best. Whether it's business or baseball, or the theater, or any field. If you don't love what you're doing and you can't give it your best, get out of it. Life is too short. You'll be an old man before you know it."

Background

I have two passions in life, mathematics and sports. By working at Crawford County Middle School, I am able to teach mathematics to students and coach those that play sports. I currently teach 6th grade Mathematics and am the head coach for the middle school baseball team and assistant coach for the middle school softball team. I have always found math to be fun and exciting, and while I know math isn't everyone's favorite subject, I'm here to do my best to help all who enter through my doorway. I know what it takes to reach the next level, whether it be high school, college, or further, so I want my teach my students good habits and be able to see how successful they can be. Like teaching, I aim to be the best coach I can be to all my athletes as well as other athletes I may not coach. I played baseball growing up, all the way through high school, so when it comes to coaching, I know what it takes to make it to the next playing level. I want to take all the knowledge I've learned throughout the years and give my athletes the chance to succeed and believe in themselves that they can become stronger and faster than the day before. At the end of the day, all students are the same, athletic or non-athletic; they all can be successful in what they wish to achieve in life.

I'm blessed to be in the classroom as a teacher and as a coach on the ballfield. I look forward to having a successful year with all my students and athletes!
